About.

Meredith M. Sweeney is an award winning actor, director, writer, and designer currently based in New York City.

A proud Wisconsin native, she earned her BFA in Theatre at the University of WI-Superior before relocating to Los Angeles. In California, Meredith won acting awards for her performances in plays and musicals, including an LA Stage Alliance award for her portrayal of "Mary Jo Kopechne" in the West Coast premiere of 1969: A Fantastical Odyssey Through the American Mindscape.

A classically trained actor, Shakespeare fan and scholar, Meredith earned her Equity card while performing the role of "Hermia" in A MidSummer Night's Dream at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in the beautiful hillsides of Topanga Canyon. In the fall of 2016, she was delighted to return to the Mid-West to play "Desdemona" in Wise Fool Shakespeare's production of Othello  in Duluth, MN to celebrate the Folger Library's National Tour of The First Folio.

In New York City, Meredith has delved more into the onscreen world appearing in several short films and an indie feature with Blissville Productions. Onstage highlights include performing with The Metropolitan Playhouse in their productions of Alison's House and Within The Law (nominated for Best Revival at the Innovative Theatre Awards).

In addition to acting, she works as a costume designer and director, most recently directing the successful production of Lionel Bart's Oliver! with Congregation Rodeph Sholom Theater Company.
